*Disclaimer* Just because I don’t want to finish these series doesn’t mean they are bad books they just weren’t for me*
So I have started a lot of book series and just never finished them. Either because I’m lazy and just put off reading things or because I don’t own the next book in the series. (Hint its definitely the first one). Another reason is that I just didn’t enjoy that book or I sort of out grew the series as I got older.
- His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman
I started reading Northern Lights when I was 15 (ish) and could just never get into it even though my friends and my Mam really enjoyed them. I like the story but the writing style just really put me off. I read it a long time ago and I don’t think I will ver try to re-read or pick up the rest of the series.
2. The Giver by Lois Lowry
Although I enjoyed it while reading it, I wasn’t completely hooked and fully interested in the story to want to read the rest of this series.
3. Night World by L.J Smith
This is another book that I read back when I was 15/16. I actually read the first 3 in the series and then just never continued reading the rest. Now I can’t really remember what happened in the story and I’m sure that there are sooooo many more books in the series so I won’t be picking it up since I have just lost interest. And I have more vampire books than I can handle
4. The Wolves of Mercy Falls by Maggie Stiefvater
I read Shiver because my best friend at the time was obsessed with reading them. I thought since they were supernatural books that I would love them too but I just couldn’t get into them. I think it was the romance that put me off. However, I do LOVE The Raven Boys by Maggie Steifvater and I will be definitely continuing that series!
5. Divergent by Veronica Roth
I remember this book making me feel very uncomfortable and I couldn’t understand why everybody loved it so much. The weird romance with Tris and Four just put me right off this book and the rest of the series. I had originally planned to read insurgent but when my friends told me more about it I was just like nope. I really wanted to love this series too because soooo many people loved it.
6. The White Rabbit Chronicles by Gena Showalter
I thought yay great a Alice in Wonderland retelling because I really enjoy retellings. But nope this was not an Alice in Wonderland retelling at all. It was just cringey romance that I didn’t want to put myself through.
7. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
This was on my TBR for so long and when I finally got to read it I was so disappointed. I didn’t really know a lot about the story before going into it and for the most part I enjoyed the story. But the romance ruined it for me… shock. I found this romance to be so frustrating like they just didn’t talk abut expected the other to know exactly what was going on. I couldn’t cope with reading any more of that love sorry.
That is it for now but I’m sure that I’ll come across more since I seem to be very picky when it comes to books. If I mentioned some of your faves I’m sorry don’t hate me. If you think I should give any another chance then leave me a comment!
Thanks for reading xoxoxo
